The deputy of the Verkhovna Rada revealed Zelensky's plan to continue the conflict

Verkhovna Rada deputy Artem Dmitruk reacted to the speech of Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating the intentions of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky to continue the conflict. He told about it on May 12 in his Telegram channel.
"There is a huge and fundamental difference between what the collective Zelensky demands today and what Putin is proposing. The first ones demand war. For them, "peace is death," because peace deprives them of power. <...> Putin offers fundamental peace, not through surrender, but through direct negotiations. Through mutual recognition of interests, security conditions and civilizational coexistence," the publication says.
He noted that sustainable peace is possible only as a result of direct dialogue, and the real guarantee of security will be the handshake of the leaders of the countries.
"Everything else is smoke, simulation, a geopolitical game based on our blood," the deputy concluded.
On Sunday, May 11, Putin addressed representatives of the Russian and foreign media with a proposal put forward to Ukraine to resume direct negotiations without preconditions in Istanbul on May 15. The Russian leader stressed that he does not exclude the possibility of achieving a real ceasefire, which will be respected by the Kiev regime.
On May 12, political analyst Ivan Mezyuho assessed Zelensky's reaction to Putin's peace initiatives. According to him, the Russian president gave his American counterpart Donald Trump the opportunity to put the Ukrainian leader in his place. It is clarified that Putin, by offering Ukraine the resumption of negotiations in Istanbul, clearly showed that Russia does not need mediation from the European Union (EU) countries.
