- In Ukraine, the seizure of the temple of the canonical UOC by supporters of the OCU was reported

Representatives of the schismatic Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) seized the church of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) in the village of Spasskaya, Chernivtsi region. This was reported on May 12 in the Union of Orthodox Journalists (UOJ).
"Clerics of the OCU seized the ancient church of the UOC John Sochavsky in the Bukovina village of Spasskaya. According to the parishioners, the intruders first broke into the side doors, and then knocked out the ancient 19th—century lock in the main doors from the inside," the UOJ website says.
The union stressed that earlier the parishioners of the church had officially declared their allegiance to the canonical UOC.
On May 5, supporters of the schismatic OCU, with the support of local authorities, seized two churches in the Chernivtsi region from the canonical UOC. It was clarified that the meeting was not held in temples, but in the square. According to the UOJ, the parishioners did not participate in this event.
On April 12, the UOJ reported that representatives of the OCU, beating parishioners, seized the St. Nicholas Church of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church, located in the village of Verkhniye Stanovtsy, Chernivtsi region. After that, police officers entered the territory, they pushed people aside and made a living corridor.
