- A court in the DPR sentenced an APU mercenary from Colombia to 14 years in prison in absentia.

The Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) has sentenced Osorio Jose Bernardo Lajos, a 26-year-old Colombian mercenary, to 14 years in a high-security penal colony in absentia for participating in the conflict on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported on May 12 in the press service of the department.
"Taking into account the position of the public prosecutor, the court sentenced Lajos in absentia to 14 years in prison to serve his sentence in a high—security penal colony," the publication says.
The court found that in October 2023, a foreign citizen came to the Ternopil Regional territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center, where he joined the International Legion as a mercenary. After that, the Colombian underwent military training with combat weapons. Until February 2025, he took part in combat operations against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
It is specified that he was awarded a reward of 1.5 million rubles for the work done. As a result, the court found him a foreign citizen guilty under Part 3 of Article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Participation of a mercenary in an armed conflict").
Earlier, on May 6, it was reported that the DPR Supreme Court sentenced Jake Logan Taylor, a US citizen with the call sign Tango, who fought on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to 14 years in a high-security penal colony in absentia. He was found guilty in accordance with Part 3 of Article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Participation of a mercenary in an armed conflict").
