The courier of telephone fraudsters was detained in Khimki near Moscow

In Khimki (Moscow region), a 35-year-old man was detained, who is suspected of providing courier services to telephone fraudsters. As a result of the actions of the scammers, an 86-year-old woman lost 4.5 million rubles.
According to the pensioner, a stranger called her on behalf of law enforcement agencies. He convinced the woman that funds were allegedly being debited from her account to support the Ukrainian army. To prevent write-offs, the interlocutor suggested withdrawing money from the account and transferring it to the collectors for depositing into a "secure account". This is what the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya writes about.
Within a couple of days, several couriers came to the victim's house to collect the money. The police detained a 35-year-old native of Yekaterinburg, who received 1.5 million rubles from a pensioner. According to the suspect, he found a part-time job as a courier on the Internet.
A criminal case has been opened against the man. An inspection is underway.
At the end of April, investigators opened a criminal case on fraud against a 68-year-old resident of Omsk. The woman lost more than 28 million rubles, counting on income from "investments".
