The Investigative Committee has launched an investigation into the attack on the correspondent of the 78 TV channel

The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia is conducting an investigation into the attack on Alyona Chernysheva, a journalist of the 78 TV channel, who was preparing a report. This was announced on May 12 by the Main Investigative Department (GSU) of the Investigative Committee of Russia in St. Petersburg.

"The investigative department for the Nevsky district of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the city of St. Petersburg received information that on May 11, a man attacked an intern journalist of the TV channel, who, according to the filming assignment, was preparing a report on the trauma of a teenager," the Telegram channel says.

According to the victim, the attacker grabbed her clothes, tried to push her out of the entrance and punched her in the face.

It is reported that the investigators organized an inspection under Article 144 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Obstruction of the legitimate professional activities of journalists, combined with violence against a journalist").

According to the press service of the department, law enforcement officers will make a procedural decision based on the results of the inspection.

It was clarified that the man struck the correspondent when she was communicating with the neighbors of an 18-year-old teenager who was injured by a firecracker explosion.
