A bill has been submitted to the State Duma, which proposes to toughen penalties for failure to provide advantages to ambulances. It was published on the website of the lower house of Parliament on May 12.

The draft law proposes to amend Article 12.17 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, supplementing it with Part 3, making the non-admission of an ambulance an independent offense. The fine for this violation should be 20-30 thousand rubles, which will be supplemented by deprivation of rights for a period of three months to two years.

Currently, a fine of 4.5 to 7 thousand rubles or disqualification for a period of three months to a year is provided for non-admission of special vehicles.

As noted by one of the authors of the bill, Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Social Policy (LDPR), cases where drivers obstruct the movement of ambulances are becoming more frequent on Russian roads.

"In order to make responsibility for these ugly antics more serious and sensitive, it is necessary, in addition to the fine, to add an additional measure — the deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle. Moreover, not as an alternative.: There should be no alternative approach here. If the fact of obstructing the work of the ambulance is recorded and, moreover, this has led to serious consequences for the citizens to whom the ambulance is being sent, the punishment will be the most severe," Nilov wrote on his Telegram channel.

On May 5, it was reported that Russia had proposed introducing a single color scheme for carsharing vehicles of all companies and services. A single color scheme for carsharing vehicles is needed to signal such vehicles on the road, the author of the initiative noted. He believes that rental cars pose an increased danger on the roads.
