- A captured militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine told about the escape of his colleagues from positions

On May 12, Nikolai, a captured serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), told Izvestia that his colleagues had escaped, leaving the militant alone in the position.
Mykola noted that he joined the ranks of the Ukrainian army when he came to a medical examination on an agenda, from where he was sent to the front line.
"When yours were advancing, they (the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters. — Ed.) they collected all their belongings and ran away. As for me, I don't want to fight," the prisoner told Izvestia correspondent Emil Timashev.
The militant stressed that he had been in position for about two days when the soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces told him to leave without weapons. Nikolai added that the Russian servicemen had shown humanity.
Earlier that day, captured AFU militant Yuri Tatarenko said that the AFU command considers military personnel to be expendable and is not going to provide them with assistance on the battlefield. According to the Ukrainian militant, he and a colleague were wounded, after which this was reported to the command, they sat for several hours in a dugout, and then they were captured.
