The forecaster predicted heavy rains and gusty winds during the week in Moscow

Rainy and windy weather is expected in Moscow and the region during the week of May 12. However, by the weekend, the air temperature will approach the climatic norm. Tatiana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at the Meteonosti news agency, told Izvestia about this on May 12.

At the same time, Pozdnyakova confirmed the statement of the Hydrometeorological Center that an "orange" weather hazard level is being introduced in Moscow and the region until the morning of May 13. According to her, the weather in Moscow and the region may indeed drop to -1 degrees. She noted that in some regions of central Russia, temperatures may drop to lower values.

"Frosts have already taken place almost everywhere. That is, I think that those who survived there are -3...-4 degrees, for them -1 is no longer dangerous. Everything that could, everything is already frozen," Pozdnyakova said.

Temperature fluctuations can also lead to the loss of a large part of the harvest of fruit trees in the south of the country.

She also claims that the weather on this day will be more unpleasant than the frosts on the night of May 13.

"For the capital region, the most unpleasant moment will be that tomorrow afternoon we expect heavy rains. And because of this, the air temperature will be low - only about +10... +12 degrees maximum, which is what we expect for tomorrow," the forecaster explained.

In addition, rains are expected on Wednesday, but the air temperature will begin to rise: at night in Moscow — in the range of + 3...+5, and in the region — +2...+7 degrees Celsius. The daytime temperature is +12...+17 degrees.

"But on Wednesday, we expect, despite the fact that the wind will change to the south-west, it will be quite gusty, with gusts of 12-17 meters per second, so we will not feel such an onset of heat or approach there yet," Pozdnyakova said.

However, more comfortable weather is expected on Thursday and Friday, according to the expert. Light, short-term rains are possible, and the air temperature will begin to rise. So, on Friday, the thermometer will reach +4... +9 degrees at night, and in the afternoon — +14 ...+19 degrees.

The weather forecaster shared: by the weekend, the weather will approach the climatic norm. On Saturday, +7...+12 degrees are expected in Moscow and the region at night, +15...+20 degrees in the afternoon. However, the south-westerly wind will remain.

Earlier, on May 12, Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, said that in the coming days frosts are expected in the territories of the Siberian, Central, Southern, Ural and Northwestern Federal districts of Russia. According to him, frosts of up to -5 degrees may occur in the regions of Central Russia in the coming days, and temperatures are expected to drop to -2 degrees at night in Crimea.
