Three streets in Khanty-Mansiysk were named after local poets and writers. This was announced by public activist Anatoly Korneev on his page on the Vkontakte social network.

The streets in the Irtysh microdistrict were named after artist Vladimir Gavrilov, Mansi poet Andrei Tarkhanov, Honored Worker of Culture of the RSFSR, journalist and local historian Novomir Patrikeev.

As the activist explained, the decision to assign the names of famous Ugra residents to the streets was made at the interdepartmental commission on the names of inner-city facilities.

It was also decided to hold a whole range of events to promote information about all the streets bearing the names of people who have made a significant contribution to the history of the city, writes <url> news agency.
