The Department of Educational Policy of the Ministry of Education will be headed by the Hero of Russia

Russian Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov invited Igor Yurgin, a Hero of Russia participant in the Time of Heroes program, to head the department for educational policy of the department. This was reported on May 12 in the press service of the Ministry.

It is noted that the proposal was announced during a meeting between Kravtsov, the head of the Republic of Sakha, Aisen Nikolaev, and a veteran of the special military operation, Yurgin.

"It is a great honor and responsibility for me. I did not expect it to happen so quickly. <...> I am ready to accept the offer and contribute to the future of our country," Yurgin is quoted as saying on the Ministry of Education's website.

A participant of the SVO within the framework of the "Time of Heroes" program completed an internship in the government of Yakutia and was appointed Acting Minister of Youth Affairs and Social Communications, the press service of the department emphasized.

Last year, he was awarded the Hero of Russia Star. Yurgin was also awarded the Order of Courage and the Medal for Bravery.

On March 1, it was reported that 83 participants of the special operation were trained for public service within the framework of the "Time of Heroes" program, and 27 students of the first stream received new assignments during the implementation of the program.

The launch of the Time of Heroes program was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin in February 2024. It is aimed at training managers to work in state and municipal authorities from among the participants of the SVO.
