- Rubio called the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine a priority for the United States

The settlement of the conflict in Ukraine is currently a priority for the United States. This was announced on May 12 by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during telephone conversations with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy.
"Our top priorities remain the cessation of hostilities and an immediate cease—fire," the State Department said in a statement on its official website.
In addition, the parties touched upon the aggravation of relations between India and Pakistan in their conversation. Thus, Rubio and Lammy noted the need for states to maintain a cease-fire and continue to communicate with each other.
"The Secretary of State expressed U.S. support for direct dialogue between India and Pakistan and called for continued efforts to improve communications," the department said.
On May 8, US Vice President Jay Dee Vance announced that the United States would continue to work towards a rapprochement between Moscow and Kiev on the issue of resolving the Ukrainian conflict. According to him, the American side will work on this until it realizes that progress is impossible.
On April 24, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia appreciates the mediation services provided by US President Donald Trump and his administration in the negotiation process on the Ukrainian conflict.
