More than 20 people were arrested in Sheremetyevo in the case of embezzlement from the participants of the SVO

23 people have been arrested in the case of embezzlement of funds by taxi drivers from participants in a special military operation (SVO) at the Sheremetyevo airport in the capital. This was reported to TASS by law enforcement agencies on May 12.

"In the present criminal case, initiated under Articles 158 ("Theft") and Article 159 ("Fraud") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, 23 defendants were arrested, including five police officers of the patrol service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia at Sheremetyevo airport," the statement says.

The defendants in the criminal case are charged under the article "Organization of a criminal community or participation in it."

Earlier, on May 1, it was reported that the transport police had opened nine criminal cases into the theft by taxi drivers of funds from participants in their operations at Sheremetyevo Airport. According to the district transport department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, nine criminal cases have been initiated against the defendants under Articles 158 ("Theft") and Article 159 of the Criminal Code ("Fraud").

It clarifies that the attackers committed fraud through theft, extortion and fraudulent actions. Later it became known that Alexey Kabochkin was arrested, whom the investigation considers to be the organizer of the criminal group.
