A teenager was detained in the Kemerovo region for preparing a terrorist attack.


In the Kemerovo region, a minor resident of Novokuznetsk was detained who planned to detonate an improvised explosive device (IED) on the territory of the city military enlistment office. This was reported on May 12 in the FSB department for the region.
"The operational search measures carried out have identified a minor resident of the region who, for selfish reasons, conspired with a representative of a terrorist organization <...> to commit a terrorist act by detonating an IED on the territory of the military commissariat of the city of Novokuznetsk in order to destabilize the activities of government authorities in the Kemerovo region," the statement said, quoted by TASS.
It is specified that a criminal case was initiated under the article for preparation for a terrorist act (Part 3 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). At the moment, the detainee is in custody by court order.
On May 7, FSB officers detained three natives of Ukraine who, on instructions from Kiev, were going to set off an explosion at the monument to the T-34 Tank in Kakhovka, Kherson region, during a rally. The defendants admitted that they were recruited by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in the autumn of 2024.
According to them, they were supposed to provide information about the deployment of Russian army units in the Kherson region.
