- The expert recalled the increase in fines for teenagers for riding electric scooters

As a result of the increased number of accidents, fines for minors for riding electric scooters have been tripled since the end of April. Maxim Tishakov, Associate Professor of the Department of Law at the Institute of Economics, Management and Law of the Moscow State Pedagogical University, recalled this on May 12.
The expert explained that such a decision was made by Russian kicksharing operators (short-term rental of electric scooters) due to the increased number of traffic violations by teenagers, which leads to sad consequences.
"However, it should be noted that this is a civil liability on the part of SIM users (means of individual mobility. — Ed.). Discussions are still underway regarding changes to the current version of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, and there are proposals to increase fines for traffic violations by an order of magnitude," Tishakov said in an interview with the Prime agency.
It is noted that fines in the territory of the Russian Federation have already tripled — from 10 thousand to 30 thousand rubles. The exception was Moscow, where the fine currently stands at 100,000 rubles.
On April 24, it became known that, according to data reviewed by Izvestia, since the beginning of the season, kicksharing companies MTS Yrent, Whoosh and Yandex Go have issued more than 26.6 thousand fines to Russians, which is four times higher than the fines for the same period in 2024.
