The media learned about the defense and security pact prepared by Britain and the EU

The countries of the European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom plan to present a joint defense and security pact, under which London can become part of European defense policy. This was reported on May 11 by the British edition of The Sunday Times.
"The UK and the EU will present a defense and security pact next week as part of a wide—ranging deal that will bring Britain closer to the EU," the article says.
The publication explains that, according to the available information on the defense deal, its necessity is conditioned by the "greatest threat in the last generation," allegedly emanating from Russia.
It is specified that if the relevant document is signed, Britain will be able to send its military units to Europe to participate in peacekeeping operations. In addition, the pact provides for interstate consultations on various issues.
The Telegraph newspaper reported on May 5 that in the UK, by decision of Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the war plan has been updated, which has been guided since 2005. The instructions have been supplemented with new points regarding a possible conflict with Russia.
