Nicaragua is interested in concluding a strategic partnership agreement with the Russian Federation

Managua is interested in concluding a strategic partnership agreement with the Russian Federation, following the example of Venezuela. This was stated to Izvestia by Laureano Ortega, special representative of the President of Nicaragua for the development of relations with the Russian Federation.

"Of course, yes. We consider ourselves a strategic partner of Russia, and this type of agreement could further strengthen ties between our countries and, as a result, would lead to mutual benefit. We will work in this direction," Ortega said.

The agreement on strategic partnership between Russia and Venezuela was signed on May 7 during the official visit of President Nicolas Maduro to the Russian Federation.
