Ukraine must agree to negotiations with Russia. This was announced on May 11 by US President Donald Trump on the Truth Social network.

"The President of Russia [Vladimir] Putin does not want to conclude a ceasefire agreement with Ukraine, but rather wants to meet on Thursday [May 15] in Turkey to negotiate a possible end to the bloodshed. Ukraine must agree to this, immediately," Trump wrote.

In addition, Kirill Dmitriev, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation, reacted to the words of the American leader.

"Well said," Dmitriev noted on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Earlier in the day, Politico newspaper reported that Trump supported the EU's plan for the Ukrainian conflict, related to the idea of establishing a 30-day cease-fire, but may change his mind. It was noted that he approves of European demands, and is also ready to contribute to the settlement of the conflict.

On May 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to Kiev during a press conference in the Malachite Foyer of the Grand Kremlin Palace to resume negotiations on May 15 in Istanbul.
