The UK will check the granting of citizenship to the parents of children who desecrated the St. George ribbon

Law enforcement officers will check whether the parents of the children who trampled the flag depicting the St. George ribbon in Obninsk legally obtained Russian citizenship. This was announced on May 11 by the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

"As part of the investigation of the criminal case under Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Negligence"), the investigative authorities will also provide a legal assessment of the legality of obtaining Russian citizenship by the parents of minors," the agency's Telegram channel says.

The UK indicated that the children who trampled on the flag with the St. George ribbon are in the second and fourth grades.

Earlier, on May 10, a video was posted online where children trampled on a flag with a St. George ribbon. The pictures show that in one of the city's residential complexes, the boys threw the flag to the ground and stood on it with their feet. On the same day, police and Federal Security Service (FSB) officers identified the minors.
