US President Donald Trump has decided to support the EU's plan for the Ukrainian conflict, but may change his mind. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on May 11.

"Trump supports European demands, and is also ready to contribute to the implementation and monitoring of a potential ceasefire — at least that's what the European side says," the publication says.

At the same time, it is clarified that the American leader is inclined to quickly change his mind, so he may change his mind in this case.

According to Politico, French President Emmanuel Macron took the initiative to call Trump after three hours of negotiations of the "coalition of the willing" in Kiev. The US leader answered the call, despite the fact that it was not yet 07:00 in Washington (corresponding to 14:00 Moscow time). According to the newspaper, he supported the European demands.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Macron, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz visited the capital of Ukraine on May 10. The politicians discussed the draft of a possible announcement of a 30-day ceasefire and stated that Kiev is ready for it from May 12.

On May 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a press conference in the malachite hall of the foyer of the Grand Kremlin Palace, invited Kiev to resume negotiations on May 15 in Istanbul.

On the same day, on May 11, Trump announced on the Thuth Social network the beginning of the "big week" in resolving the Ukrainian conflict. In addition, he noted that he would continue to work with both sides.
