The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia will conduct an investigation into the desecration of the flag with the St. George ribbon by two minors in Obninsk. This was reported on May 11 in the press service of the department.

"The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed to submit a report on the progress of verification measures on the desecration by teenagers of the symbol of military glory of Russia in the Kaluga region," follows from a publication in the Telegram channel.

It was clarified that in Obninsk, children desecrated the St. George ribbon, which was installed on one of the houses in the form of a flag. In addition, according to the press service, the parents of minors have only recently obtained citizenship of the Russian Federation.

Investigators are conducting an inspection under Part 3 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Desecration of symbols of military glory of Russia"). In addition, law enforcement officers plan to assess the acquisition of Russian citizenship by parents of minors as part of a criminal investigation under Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Negligence").

Earlier, on May 10, a video was posted online where children trampled on a flag with a St. George ribbon. The pictures show that in one of the city's residential complexes, the boys threw the flag to the ground and stood on it with their feet. On the same day, police and Federal Security Service (FSB) officers identified the minors.
