An earthquake of magnitude 5.2 was recorded off the coast of Kamchatka


Scientists have recorded a magnitude 5.2 earthquake near Severo-Kurilsky in Kamchatka. This was announced on May 11 at the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
According to data published on the organization's website, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 39 km from Severo-Kurilsk at a depth of 144 km.
The seismic event occurred at 05:00 UTC (08:00 Moscow time).
Earlier that day, an earthquake of magnitude 4.6 was recorded near the Southern Kuril Islands. The epicenter of the seismic event was located 114 km south-east of Iturup Island.
