Following the results of the European championship, Russian karate players won four tickets to the World Championship, which will be held in Egypt in November. This was reported on May 11 by TASS with reference to the press service of the Russian Karate Federation.

"Following the results of the European Championship, which was held in Yerevan, our athletes won four tickets to the World Cup," the organization said.

It is specified that the holder of the fifth ticket will be determined at the Premier League stage in Rabat.

Ahmed Akhmedov in the weight category up to 60 kg and Ernest Sharafutdinov (up to 75 kg) became European champions in 2025. Yuri Hovhannisyan (up to 67 kg) won the silver medal, and Anna Chernysheva (up to 55 kg) won the bronze medal.

On April 26, Russian judoka Inal Tasoev became the European champion in the over 100 kg weight category at a tournament in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro. In the final battle, he faced fellow countryman Valery Endovitsky, who won silver as a result.
