Moscow is the center of world politics and decision-making these days. This was announced on May 11 by Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council.

"Moscow is the center of world politics and the center of decision—making these days. The initiative remains with us. History puts everything in its place. Just like 80 years ago," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

The senator noted that there are "two alternatives." The first one was proposed by Kiev and its allies, it implies a 30-day truce, which will be used by the Kiev regime to replenish weapons and regroup troops.

Another option is to negotiate on Russia's terms and taking into account its achievements on the battlefield.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced at a press conference on May 11 that Russia was offering Ukraine to resume direct talks in Istanbul on May 15. At the same time, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that the Kremlin would announce who would participate in the Istanbul talks.

Later, former American intelligence officer and analyst Scott Ritter noted that Putin's proposal was a brilliant maneuver and removed the issue of a 30-day truce from the agenda. He added that the president's statement returns the initiative to Russia, allowing it to dictate terms to the Ukrainian-European-American bloc.
