Media reports about the interception of the Russian submarine Krasnodar by the British Navy near the English Channel are incorrect. This was reported to RIA Novosti with reference to a source at the Main Headquarters of the Russian Navy.

"Everyone knows that submarines cross the English Channel on the surface and in accordance with international maritime law. Therefore, the phrase "intercepted" looks incorrect and ridiculous," he said.

It is noted that the Krasnodar diesel-electronic submarine successfully completed a combat training mission in the Mediterranean Sea and after that was scheduled to head to its home base.

On April 22, the press service of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Federation announced the completion of the naval exercises of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Bangladesh, which took place in the Indian Ocean. The crews of the two countries practiced tactical maneuvering.
