Specialists in Yakutia are extinguishing 14 forest fires, the total area of which is more than 1.7 thousand hectares. This was announced on May 11 by the press service of the regional Ministry of Ecology.

"At the moment, work is underway to extinguish 14 forest fires on a total area of 1,794.05 hectares," the press service said in a Telegram channel.

Gorenje is located in the forests of Verkhoyansk, Vilyuysky, Megino-Kangalassky, Ust-Aldansky, Eveno-Bytantaysky and Churapchinsky districts.

In addition, the press service noted that 288 specialists and 26 pieces of equipment are involved in extinguishing fires.
