- Peskov: it is useless to put pressure on the Russian Federation on the issue of conflict settlement in Ukraine

It is useless to put pressure on Russia to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. This was announced on May 10 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"Russia is resistant to any pressure. We are open to dialogue, we are open to attempts to resolve. <...> It is useless to put pressure on Russia," Peskov said in an interview with CNN.
In addition, the official representative added that he did not consider Russia to be cornered by the threat of European countries to impose new sanctions if the Kremlin rejected the 30-day truce in Ukraine.
The Wall Street Journal newspaper reported on May 10 that the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz discussed the possible blocking of the Nord Stream 2 (SP-2) gas pipeline as an attempt to put pressure on Russia if Moscow refuses a 30-day truce with Ukraine.
