Pakistan violated the agreement on cessation of hostilities. This was announced on May 10 by Indian Deputy Foreign Minister Vikram Misri at a briefing, the video of which was posted on the page of the official representative of the Indian Foreign Ministry Randhir Jaiswal on the social network X (former. Twitter).

"Over the past few hours, repeated violations of the agreement reached earlier today between the Directors of the General Staffs of India and Pakistan have been recorded. This is a violation of the agreement reached today," he said.

Misri added that the Indian armed forces have been instructed to "deal harshly with violations along the border," as eyewitnesses in Jammu and Srinagar heard and saw explosions and shells in the sky.

"The Armed Forces (of India. They give an adequate and appropriate response to these violations, and we take them very, very seriously. We urge Pakistan to take appropriate measures to eliminate these violations and take a responsible approach to resolving the situation," the Indian Deputy Foreign Minister concluded.

On this day, explosions occurred in Jammu and Kashmir a few hours after the ceasefire was announced by India and Pakistan. According to local residents and eyewitnesses cited by the agency, explosions were heard in the cities of Srinagar and Jammu, and shells and flashes were seen in the sky over Jammu.

Earlier in the day, the Indian Foreign Minister said that the military commands of the two countries had held talks and agreed on the cessation of all hostilities from 17:00 local time (14:30 Moscow time), while the term "cease-fire" was not used.

Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed that an agreement had been reached with India on an immediate ceasefire. He stressed that Pakistan has consistently stood for peace and security in the region, without sacrificing its sovereignty and territorial integrity. At the same time, Dar stated that Pakistan's strikes on Indian territory were a defensive measure. He also added that Indian aggression is unacceptable, calling their actions over the past 48 hours a "continuous stream of lies."
