The head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasyl Malyuk dismissed Anatoly Loif, head of the Main Directorate of Counterintelligence Support of the SBU, after he attended the birthday party of the sanctioned thief in law. "Anatoly Loif, head of the Main Directorate for Counterintelligence Support for Critical Infrastructure Facilities and Countering the Financing of Terrorism, has been dismissed from his post by decision of the head of the Security Service of Ukraine," the SBU press service said in a statement.
It is reported that one of the functions of the SBU directorate, which was headed by Loif, is to justify the imposition of sanctions by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC).
It is clarified that Loif's friendship with the thief in law became known after several journalistic investigations.
On April 17, the RBC-Ukraine news agency reported, citing sources, that the SBU and the Ukrainian police had accused former deputy Mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko, Vladimir Prokopov, of trying to transfer draft dodgers from service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). to Europe. It was noted that Prokopov had held the position of deputy mayor since 2021, but Klitschko dismissed him from his duties in October last year.
