Russian President Vladimir Putin had very good talks with foreign leaders on the sidelines of Victory Day celebrations. This was announced on May 10 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"Many countries have come to us to celebrate Victory Day. This is very important both from the point of view of symbolism and from the point of view of content, because very good negotiations took place on the sidelines of these celebrations," Peskov told Rossiya 1 reporters.

On May 9, Putin met with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. During the meeting, the Russian leader stressed that Russia would do everything necessary to restore relations with Slovakia. The Russian President also thanked Fico for coming to Moscow, despite the difficulties that had arisen.

On the same day, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi discussed with the Russian leader the possibility of increasing the tourist flow from Russia. According to the Office of the President of Egypt, al-Sisi congratulated his Russian counterpart and the citizens of the Russian Federation on Victory Day during the event. He also highly appreciated the strategic relations between the two countries, which are based on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement signed back in 2018.

Putin also held a meeting with the leader of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
