The Kremlin has spoken out about attempts to intimidate Russia with sanctions

Intimidating Russia with sanctions is an empty matter. This was stated on May 10 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov to journalist Pavel Zarubin.
He noted that the country has already become accustomed to sanctions and knows how to mitigate their consequences after their introduction.
"Therefore, scaring us with these sanctions is an empty matter," Peskov said, a fragment of the video was posted on the Telegram channel of a media representative.
On the same day, French President Emmanuel Macron allowed the introduction of new sanctions in the event of Russia's refusal from Kiev's conditions for a 30-day truce. According to him, they will be "much tougher" for the Russian economy and should act as a deterrent.
On May 8, US President Donald Trump called on Russia and Ukraine to accept a 30-day truce. According to him, the US administration, together with its partners, will impose sanctions if this initiative is not agreed upon. He noted that he hopes that the ceasefire will be respected by both sides.
Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu said on April 25 that anti-Russian sanctions had not hindered Russia's economic development. He noted that the Russian economy has grown by 4.1% over the past two years.
