- Chebneva, the widow of the Hero of the Russian Federation, spoke about her sense of pride during the Victory Day Parade

The widow of Hero of Russia Sergei Chebnev, who died during the defense of the village of Malaya Loknya in the Kursk region, became an honored guest of the Victory Day Parade on Red Square and on May 10 told Izvestia about her impressions.
"Emotions are the best. Pride. I am glad that <...> we got to such an event. Memory is always important, and the memory of the past, and the memory of those guys who are now defending the interests of [Russia] at the cost of their lives," said Olga Chebneva.
During the parade, she sat on the same podium with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Chebneva noted that the event was very well organized, and her dead husband's friends were present.
She would like people to remember those heroic people with whom they are currently living. The widow of the Hero of the Russian Federation added that events such as the Victory Day Parade remind of the importance of the feat of military personnel defending Russia.

On March 6, Putin met with Olga Chebnev, the widow of Hero of Russia Sergei Chebnev. The Head of State presented her with the Gold Star medal, which her deceased husband was awarded posthumously. The President noted that he protected not only his soldiers, but also the civilian population, allowing civilians to escape to a safe zone and preventing the enemy from breaking through to the Kursk nuclear power plant.
