When buying wine, it is necessary to study the counter labels on the back of the bottle, which contain all the information about the product. This was announced on May 10 by Anton Katarzhin, the chief winemaker of the Jubilee winery, part of the Abrau-Durso group of companies.

"When choosing wine in a store or supermarket, always carefully read the counter labels on the back of the bottle. They have all the necessary information on them: what kind of product, from which grape varieties it is produced, in which wineries it is made," the expert said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

In addition, he noted that buyers need to understand the grape varieties and understand how the styles of different wineries differ.

According to Katarzhin, at the moment there are "about 250, if not more" wine producers in Russia. In addition, he added that the development of the wine business in Russia is striking in its scale.

Earlier, on April 23, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reported an increase in wine production. In January – March, Russia produced 12.4 million dal of wine, which is 11.6% more than in the same period of 2024. The Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Crimea became the leaders among the regions. They account for more than 60% of all products produced in the country.
