Russian and Uzbek Defense Ministers sign strategic partnership plan

Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov and the head of the military Department of Uzbekistan, Major General Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov, signed a plan for the implementation of the program of strategic partnership between the countries in the military field for 2026-2030 during a meeting in Moscow. This was announced on May 10 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
"We will never forget the price the Uzbek SSR paid for its victory in the Great Patriotic War. Of course, the participation of Uzbek military personnel in the parade on Red Square is deeply natural," Belousov said.
The Russian Defense Minister also noted the important role of Uzbekistan in the logistical and military-technical support of Soviet units in the fight against fascism.
Halmukhamedov, in turn, thanked Russia for the conditions of training Uzbek military personnel for the parade in Moscow.
"It was a pride for our servicemen to walk along the cobblestones of Red Square," said the Uzbek Defense Minister.
He stressed that countries should not forget their history, "because without history there will be no future."
On May 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting in the Kremlin with the leader of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The conversation between the heads of state was the end of the program of bilateral meetings between them.
