French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz arrived in Kiev to attend the summit. This was reported on May 10 by German journalist Wulf Schmise.

"After a night spent in a special train, we arrived in Kiev," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Schmize said that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk had also arrived in the capital of Ukraine. The European leaders were met at the train station by Ukrainian officials and journalists.

It is specified that the politicians arrived in Kiev to participate in the summit of the "coalition of the willing", which will discuss the support of Ukraine by European countries.

On April 30, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Viktor Goremykin said that European countries were resisting efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. He noted that at the recent Paris summit, European leaders discussed increasing pressure on Russia, as well as the possibility of sending NATO deterrence forces to Ukraine.

Earlier, on April 23, the head of the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Andriy Ermak, said that the meeting of representatives of Ukraine, Great Britain, France and Germany in London had ended with an agreement on further consultations. According to him, the sides stressed the dedication to the peace efforts of US President Donald Trump.
