A 200-meter DPR flag was unfurled in Donetsk in memory of independence.

Activists unfurled a 200-meter flag of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) in the center of Donetsk in memory of the republic's independence in 2014. The footage is published on May 10 by Izvestia.

The flag was stretched from Lenin Square to the city administration building, where important events of the "Russian Spring" took place in 2014.

The event was attended by activists of the organizations "Young Republic" and "Young Guard of United Russia" of the DPR, as well as Acting Chairman of the Government of the DPR Andrei Chertkov, Minister of Youth Policy Kirill Makarov and about 200 students.

On February 21, 2022, the heads of the DPR and LPR, Denis Pushilin and Leonid Pasechnik, appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to recognize the independence of the republics. The relevant decrees were signed on the evening of the same day.
