US President Donald Trump plans to announce the US recognition of the Palestinian state during his visit to the Middle East in mid-May. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post on May 10.

"President Donald Trump will make a declaration regarding the State of Palestine and its recognition by America, as well as the creation of a Palestinian state without the presence of [the radical Palestinian movement] Hamas," the publication said.

According to the publication, if such a statement is made, it will be a significant step that can change the balance of power in the region. In addition, new countries are expected to join the Abraham Agreements.

In addition, JP added, recognition of the Palestinian state may lead to the abolition of duties for the Gulf countries.

French President Emmanuel Macron announced on April 9 that the country could recognize the state of Palestine this summer. According to him, in June France could finalize the movement for mutual recognition of Palestine by several countries.

On April 11, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared the impossibility of peace without the creation of the State of Palestine. He also called on all members of the international community, especially the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), to take responsibility, "stop the bloodshed and support the Palestinian people."
