The Azur Air Boeing-752 aircraft, which was flying from Mineralnye Vody to Antalya, returned to the departure airport. This was announced on May 10 by the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office.

It is specified that the incident occurred around 21:00 Moscow time on Friday, May 9. According to the prosecutor's office, the reason for the return of the aircraft was a malfunction of one of the engines.

"There were over 230 passengers on board, 41 of them children. Currently, the aircraft is suspended from flights," the prosecutor's office's Telegram channel says.

A backup aircraft was prepared to replace the Boeing-752.

The Prosecutor's Office has launched surveillance measures to verify compliance with aviation safety legislation.

In January, a DHC-8 passenger plane that took off from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk returned to its departure point for technical reasons. There were 68 passengers on board, and the landing was uneventful. An inspection was organized upon the forced return of the aircraft.
