European politicians are dragging out the conflict in Ukraine because of the wrong strategy and fear of responsibility. This was announced on May 9 by Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto.

"European politicians pursued the wrong strategy. This has brought problems into the daily lives of their populations, and when the conflict ends, there will be consequences for these politicians. Therefore, they want to delay this moment as much as possible," he said in an interview with the Neue Zürcher Zeitung newspaper.

Szijjarto noted that European politicians believe that negotiations on a ceasefire should begin only when Kiev finds itself in a "strong" position. He added that this approach is wrong, as Ukraine's position is only getting weaker every day.

On May 6, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that continued arms supplies to Ukraine were delaying prospects for a settlement of the conflict. Such actions, on the contrary, lead to escalation.

On April 30, the 19FortyFive portal indicated that if Washington loses its assistance, Kiev will lose its main supplier of weapons and as a result, its weapons reserves will quickly run out, even despite supplies from Europe. All this would strengthen Russia's advantage on the battlefield.
