- The WSJ has learned about the desire of the American company to buy a stake in the Turkish Stream

The American investment company Elliot Investment Management is considering the purchase of part of the assets on the Bulgarian segment of the Turkish Stream pipeline. This was reported on May 9 by The Wall Street Journal, citing sources.
"The American hedge fund, headed by billionaire and founder Paul Singer, is considering the possibility of acquiring a stake in the Bulgarian section of the Turkish Stream pipeline," the publication says.
It is clarified that representatives of the American company met with Bulgarian officials in Sofia in April and signed a non-disclosure agreement with the Bulgarian gas operator Bulgaransgaz.
According to the newspaper, negotiations on the purchase are currently in the initial stage. The deal may also include access to infrastructure facilities, a network of data centers, as well as transmission cables and some other assets.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto announced on April 30 that over 20 million cubic meters of gas were entering the country via the Turkish Stream during the day. According to him, almost 2.5 billion cubic meters have passed through the pipeline this year, which exceeds the record figure of last year.
