Kim Jong-un called Victory Day a common holiday for Russia and the DPRK

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said that Victory Day is a common holiday for the peoples of the Russian Federation and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. This was reported on May 10 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
"Comrade Kim Jong-un said that our state and people consider May 9 to be a common holiday of the two countries — the DPRK and the Russian Federation, which is the day of the priceless Victory won at the cost of blood by the Russian people in the name of the fate of the Motherland and humanity," the publication says.
The North Korean leader also noted that the Victory in the Great Patriotic War brought "undying dignity and glory" to the history of Russia. Kim Jong-un stressed that the merits of the Soviet army saved world peace.
"He expressed confidence that Russia would certainly accomplish the task of building a great and powerful state, and wholeheartedly wished the Russian people eternal prosperity and happiness," adds KCNA.
The DPRK delegation arrived in Vladivostok on May 2 and laid flowers at the Eternal Flame of the memorial "Military Glory of the Pacific Fleet" in Vladivostok. The event was attended by representatives of the Mangyongde Palace of Schoolchildren and Pioneers, who arrived at the invitation of the Governor of the region Oleg Kozhemyako.
