Unknown persons cut off the ribbons on wreaths laid by Russian and Belarusian diplomats at the memorial on the territory of the former Dachau concentration camp in southern Germany. This was announced on May 9 at the Russian Embassy in Berlin.

"By now, someone has cut off the Russian and Belarusian ribbons," the embassy said.

Flowers were laid on May 6 as part of commemorative events at the memorial complex of the former Dachau concentration camp. During the Second World War, over 200,000 prisoners from 24 countries, including citizens of the USSR, were held there.

The event was attended by Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechaev, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Bonn Oleg Krasnitsky, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Munich Kirill Dragun, Honorary Consul of Russia in Nuremberg Andrey Fixel, as well as citizens of Russia and Germany.

The head of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed on May 8 to open a criminal case in connection with the desecration of a monument to a Soviet soldier in the Czech city of Teplice. It was clarified that the attackers knocked the statue of a soldier off its pedestal and smashed it.
