The national teams of Sweden and the USA started the World Hockey Championship with a 5-0 victory.

The American national team beat the Danish team in the first match of the group stage of the World Hockey Championship.

The match took place on May 9 in Herning and ended with a score of 5:0. Both teams are playing in Group B. Forwards Cutter Gauthier (18th minute), Logan Cooley (24th), Matty Beniers (29th and 57th) and defender Mason Lorey (50th) scored for the winners.

The Swedish national team also beat their rivals from Slovakia in the Group A match, which took place in Stockholm.

Forwards Mikael Backlund (12th), Leo Karlsson (19th), Elias Lindholm (39th), Mika Zibanejad (58th) and defenseman Jonas Brodin (20th) scored goals for the home team.

The Ice Hockey World Championship will end on May 25.

The Ukrainian national ice hockey team failed to make it to the elite division of the World Cup (WCH), losing to England. The match took place on May 3 and ended with a score of 4:0. The teams that occupy the first two lines receive tickets to the elite division of the World Cup.
