Military personnel of the Vostok group of forces took part in the organization and celebration of Victory Day in Mariupol, which became the final stop of the patriotic Memorial Roads rally. This was announced on May 10 by the Russian Defense Ministry.
The Memorial Roads rally, organized by the Vostok group, lasted from 1 to 9 May. During this time, the participants of the race traveled more than 6.5 thousand km and covered over 80 settlements in the south of the DPR. At many stops, the military held concerts for local residents of the front-line brigade of the song and dance ensemble.
"People were crying because they had not heard the live performance of Victory songs for a long time, which were performed in 1941, when our ancestors forged Victory. They hugged us and greeted us with flags," said a soldier with the call sign Dispatcher.
He added that as part of the visit, small villages were visited, whose residents had not heard live concerts for a long time.
The final chord of the celebrations was a patriotic rally and the main concert at the Memorial to the Defenders of the Motherland in Mariupol. The residents of the city warmly welcomed the military artists, giving them thunderous applause.
On May 9, the Ministry of Defense reported that military personnel of the Vostok group of forces visited DPR veterans, local residents and schoolchildren as part of a car rally, handing them memorable gifts, flowers, sweets and food packages.
