- A concert dedicated to the anniversary of the Victory was held in Moscow's Zaryadye Park

A concert dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII) was held in Moscow's Zaryadye Park. Footage from the event is published by Izvestia.
"In recent years, I probably mark it by participating in such events," said Sergei Garmash, a Soviet and Russian actor of theater, cinema and television.
He added that such holidays should be celebrated "within oneself," as it is "felt everywhere." According to him, a person feels Victory Day, despite the date on the calendar and press reports.
"Victory is as much our treasure as Tchaikovsky and Pushkin, and therefore no one will ever be able to take it away from us," said Russian violist, conductor and People's Artist of the USSR Yuri Bashmet.
In addition, Matvey Semagin, a visitor to the event, said that the war had not spared any family. He clarified that his relative Nikolai Anatolyevich Semagin fought during the Second World War and returned to Moscow with a Victory. Matvey stressed that he was proud of his ancestor.
Also, all visitors to Victory Park could receive a reprint of the May 9, 1945 issue of the Izvestia newspaper. According to one of the visitors of Denis Park, the physical version of the newspaper brings much more emotions than the electronic versions.
"We always honor, it comes. Since we don't know where the graves of our great—grandfathers are, we always come to the eternal flame and lay flowers," said Anna, a visitor to Victory Park.
On May 9, visitors to the Victory Museum in Moscow received a copy of the newspaper Izvestia dated May 9, 1945. The text of the act of unconditional surrender of Germany and the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR declaring May 9 Victory Day were published on the front page of the newspaper.
