India has closed 32 airports for civilian flights until May 15. This was reported on May 10 by The Times of India newspaper with reference to the country's General Directorate of Civil Aviation.

"Due to the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan under Operation Sindoor, several airports in Northern and Northwestern India remain closed, with cancellations extended until May 15," the newspaper reported.

It is noted that the main airports of India, including Chandigarh, Srinagar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Bhuntar, will be closed. Additional airports also affected by the restrictive measures include strategic locations such as Jammu, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Leh, Bikaner and others.

The Press Trust of India reported on May 9 that the Government of India has authorized the Commander of the country's Armed Forces (AF) to call up "every officer and every enlisted person" in the Territorial Army to provide the necessary protection and to support or supplement regular troops.

On May 7, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor, during which they carried out nine strikes against the infrastructure facilities of terrorist groups located on the territory of Jammu and Kashmir in Pakistan. Relations with neighboring countries have worsened after the terrorist attack on April 22 in the disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 27 civilians.
