Vucic announced the start of negotiations with Putin on a new gas supply agreement

Serbian leader Alexander Vucic announced on May 9 during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin that they had opened negotiations on a new long-term gas supply agreement for Serbia.
"We opened these negotiations today, and our specialists will soon begin concluding a long-term contract, but what I want to believe and think that this will be the case, given our relations and experience before, and this was my request, I do not have a firm promise, I believe that Serbia will receive favorable conditions for obtaining Russian gas in the coming years," Vucic said, quoted by the Tanjug news agency.
In addition, he noted that the Russian side provides 85% of gas consumption in Serbia.
At a meeting with Vucic on May 9, Putin stressed that Russia highly appreciates Serbia's independent and sovereign course in international affairs. The Russian leader also expressed gratitude to the Serbian leader for coming to Moscow for the parade in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, despite all the obstacles created.
