A man injured in the shelling of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region has died.

The injured 65-year-old man died in hospital as a result of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the village of Zvannoye, Kursk region. Alexander Khinshtein, Acting Governor of the Kursk Region, announced this on May 9.

"Unfortunately, the man wounded in the shelling from the Glushkovsky district has died. The doctors were unable to save him — the wounds were too serious," he said in his Telegram channel.

The acting governor of the Kursk region expressed his sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.

The victim of shelling by Ukrainian militants in the Kursk region became known earlier that day. The elderly man had multiple shrapnel wounds to his body.
