The Hungarian Ambassador in Kiev was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, where he was handed a note ordering two Hungarian diplomats to leave the country in the next 48 hours. This was stated on May 9 by the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga in the social network X (former. Twitter)

"Two Hungarian diplomats must leave our country within 48 hours. We have just summoned the Hungarian Ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and handed him a corresponding note. We are acting in response to Hungary's actions based on the principle of reciprocity and our national interests," Sibiga wrote.

Earlier in the day, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto announced that the country was expelling two Ukrainian spies who worked under diplomatic cover at the Kiev Embassy in Budapest. According to him, Hungary "has never supplied weapons to Ukraine and never will."
