In Chisinau, a 100-year-old WWII veteran marched on the Victory March


In Chisinau, Vasily Litvinov, a 100-year-old veteran of the Great Patriotic War (WWII), marched in Victory on May 9 and laid flowers at the Eternity memorial.
Vasily Semenovich participated in the liberation of the Baltic States and Ukraine. He was wounded twice, and for his courage and bravery he was awarded the medal "For Military Merit" and the Order of the Patriotic War of the second degree.
Despite the ban by the Moldovan authorities, about 50,000 people took part in the commemorative event. The column was led by former President of Moldova, leader of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon.
"Everything that the government is trying to ban is burning with even greater flames. So today, despite the rain, tens of thousands of residents of the capital took part in the Victory March," Dodon said.
The Immortal Regiment march and the Garden of Memory action took place on May 8 at the Russian Embassy in Washington on the eve of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. They were attended by Russian diplomats and their family members, Russian compatriots, as well as representatives of the embassies of the CIS countries and students of the school attached to the diplomatic mission.
