- France announced the need for the republic's presence at the Victory Day Parade in Moscow
Representatives of France had to attend the parade on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Moscow. This was stated on May 9 by the leader of the party "Get up. France" by Nicolas Dupont-Aignan.
"Today, France's place is in Moscow. Out of historical honesty and respect for all victims of Nazi barbarism, May 8 and 9 should have been celebrated together by all allies — the French, Russians, Americans and British — both in Paris and in Moscow," he wrote on the social network X.
At the same time, the politician complained that Paris was making one of the major geopolitical mistakes by allowing Russia to move closer to China.
On May 9, a parade was held on Red Square in Moscow on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. More than 11 thousand military personnel took part in it, among them 1.5 thousand special operation soldiers. The event was attended by more than 25 foreign leaders, as well as military personnel from countries friendly to Russia and foreign delegations.
